nothing less than butterflies

People are superrr nice to you when it's your birthday. At least in New York they are. Although my birthday is weeks past, here are some things that went down..

1. My Aunt surprised me with this gorgeous blazer. I wanted to buy it so bad and then out of nowhere "We got this for you!"
2. Waitstaff singing to you.
3. Free drinks from some other very nice people.
4. Extra percent off at certain stores. Seriously, I never knew this existed.

Can it be my birthday once a week? Without the extra years of course

these boots are made for walking...

I don't know how I did it...but I walked around the streets of NY in these crazy heels for over an hour. Crazy high heels + walking in brand new shoes = not so pretty feet.

Since my Sam Edelman's began to resemble the dirty streets of New York, I started to browse for some shoes during our shopping adventure. I think I have a horseshoe attached to my hip everytime I enter Baker's shoe store because I always find shoes that I adore....for a ridiculously tempting price.

These ones are no exception. They were regular $90 and I got them for $40. Cha chingg. I actually really lucked out at finding some amazing shoes in New York. My Sam Edelman's are probably so happy they can rest for a bit or maybe they are jealous that they now have some competition.

Man do I ever have to stop talking about my shoes like they have feelings.

I was a picture whore in New York so you may see a few more posts from my time in the city...even though I have been home for a good 5 days. Although I am no photographer....I couldn't help but want to snap every possible thing that I saw. Everything is just so beautiful....even if it's not meant to be.

We spent most of our time in Soho...and I spent most of my time in Topshop. Seriously, screw the gym...that place is a work out. It took me two hours, a washroom break and 2 changeroom runs to fully get through the place. A lot of pieces were overloaded with sequins and if there is one thing that I love as much as New York, it's sequins.

This sequin dress of my mom was randomly hanging in our storage closet and since it was from the 80's she had no plans to wear it again. Partytime! I snatched it, altered it, and replaced the crazy shoulder pads with smaller ones just in time for my New York trip. It was perfect for the first night in the big apple.

there's nothing you can't do.

One of my favourite scenes in the Sex and the City Movie was when Samantha was leaving Bryant Park during fashion week and Peta throws red paint all over her. Instead of raging, she screams with glee... "GOD! I love New York!"

As crude and claustrophobic as some New York situations can sometimes be ( like that one)...there is nothing that can happen that can make me not LOVE the place. I really don't understand how I ever moved home from there. It is simply the best city in the world.

I guess I left a piece of my heart there because as I walked through the streets of Soho, I felt like I never left. Some new places, some old but the energy was still high, the cobblestones still hard on the heels and the shopping still insane in the membrane. I had the best and most perfect weekend and will never forget my 25th ( Yes...that's right I am a quarter of a century old-slowly but surely coming to terms with it) birthday weekend.
